Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Job Summary:
Investigate, source, and manage best options to ensure the most cost effective, reliable, and on time movement of inbound materials, interplant materials, and outbound shipments of goods to support all PSC Industries locations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure delivery is completed on time, to meet expectations. Explain failures to understand and correct the situation to avoid issues in the future.
Coordinate shipping and process loads with various third-party carriers.
Assist with freight metrics reports for effective monitoring of logistics costs/services.
Audit freight invoices for correct charges by tracking and logging invoice data to support freight metrics.
Utilize customer relations techniques to manage external and internal relationships.
Organize and manage all purchasing data, forms, logs in both paper file and electronic formats.
Improve our customers’ experience by pushing for improved service from warehouse and carrier operations.
Lead projects that improve internal processes through implementing innovative ideas.
Work with suppliers, carriers, and PSC location to develop best shipment method and carrier to handle inbound freight shipment.
Work with PSC locations and management to determine best freight consolidation locations for shipment into Mexico.
Other assigned by the company.
Additional Responsibilities will include:
Train shipping and receiving clerks to run multiple types of trucks
Become forklift certified
Make sure pull lists are out for clerks to work on
Adhere to our shipping days for customers and make sure their product is pulled and ready to ship
Follow quality SOPs and ensure everyone in the department is following them
Ensure clerks are using their time wisely
Make daily and weekly time corrections for your employees in KRONOS
Ensure the department follows 5s requirements
Complete walk though on load lists asap to give production maximum time
Ensure employees are working safely in the department
Ensure you are meeting your KPIs
Make sure PM’s and repairs on trucks are scheduled and completed
Hold your employees accountable for their actions through disciplinary actions when needed
Work with the customer service department for customer needs
Work well with others

Make decisions
This is a very hands on roll. You will get dirty some days. We are a fiberglass plant. It gets hot in here in the summer and cold in the winter. You will be involved in daily/weekly meetings. You will be involved in all aspects of managing and leading about 2-4 people daily in your department. You will be expected to follow the attendance policy and enforce it as well. You will be in proper dress code daily. You will be doing quality checks on your production employee’s work. You will learn how to operate every machine in your department.
Required Qualifications & Experiences:
Associates degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field is required.
2 years of experience within the logistics function is required.
General knowledge of import/export customs and processes and other international shipping matters.
Must be a self-starter and demonstrate willingness to take on greater responsibilities.
Must be a detail-oriented and possess the ability to work independently.
Proficiency in Excel and Access.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high level of attention to detail.
Pass the Drug Test & the background check.
